Regarding classic Comic, his illustrations differ by the utilization of enlarged detailed strip cartoons. In his drawings, we can appreciate a technic based oneself in using graphic, visual and photographyc documentation.

Manuel Perales, very fond of historic theme, especially aeronautical, decided to carry out a project which he promised to himself in his childhood: an illustrated adaptation from the famous post-Second War best-seller, "The Big Show" by Pierre Clostermann. At the age of 12, he achieves the first sketches in scholar notebook, with coloured pencils.


In august of 1.988, after a long search, Manuel Perales succeeded in to get in touch with Pierre Clostermann, the heroe of his infancy. Inmediately, a tight friendship relation of collaboration was born betwen the artist and the famous pilot.

In this way, Manuel Perales's work acquires a very hight authenticity, enlarging the original book with many unpublished episodes.


The Big Show is the diary of a World War Two R.A.F. pilot. It describes the experiences and emotions of a human being confined in cockpit of a fighter aircraft in the hell of furious airfights of this periode.

Manuel Perales is an investigator who has succeeded to make compatible with exceptional skill his talent as illustrator with his historian vocation.

Very soon, he will surprise us again with another fascinating creation: "The Story of the Kennedy".
